Lock it tight, lock it for everyone, or don’t bother locking it at all.
Transparency is especially important given the government’s increasingly secretive use of new technologies for law enforcement and national security purposes. Without transparency, it is difficult to hold the government accountable and ensure digital rights. When Big Tech and Big Government slip into a back room to decide whose voice gets heard, or doessn't, the republic is already on life support. We must demand public logs of every decision that affects public discourse, full disclosure of every government request or “partnership,” and open audits of the black-box algorithms that silently shape elections and culture. Secret censorship is tyranny with better graphics.
You bought the broadband, you own the lane. Internet providers should not get to play traffic cop, slowing down sites they dislike or shaking down startups for “fast-lane” tolls. An open internet means your packets travel at the same speed whether you’re watching a baseball game, reading a conservative blog, or launching a new video service. Bits are bits, and Bytes are Bytes: equal speed, equal access, no political favoritism, no corporate toll booths. That’s how the internet was born, and that’s how it stays free. No corporate gatekeepers, no FCC overlords—just the free flow of bits the way DARPA originally designed it.
This country was built by tinkerers, inventors, and kids in garages who never asked permission.
